Shri Ojaswwee Sharma, a distinguished National Award-winning Film Director, Producer, and Screenwriter from India, has etched his name in the annals of cinematic excellence.

He stands as the proud recipient of the esteemed National Award, ‘Rajat Kamal,’ bestowed upon him for his film ‘Admitted’ by the 15th President of the Republic of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at the 68th National Film Awards presented by the Government of India. Additionally, Ojaswwee clinched the title of Best National Documentary 2022 for ‘Admitted’ from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The ensuing year saw him being honored with the Chanakya Award 2023 by the Public Relations Council of India. His creative endeavors have also earned him the prestigious IRPRA 40 Under 40 accolade three times consecutively for the years 2023, 2022, and 2021, recognizing his outstanding contributions to “Best Creative Entertainment Campaigns” in India, particularly in Chandigarh and Punjab.

With over a decade of filmmaking expertise, Ojaswwee’s portfolio is a testament to his ability to craft thought-provoking cinema that resonates on a global scale. His works have not only garnered over 30 awards but have also secured more than 100 Official Selections at international film festivals. Covering a diverse array of subjects, his films, documentaries, and compelling storytelling through the cinematic medium delve into social equality, gender diversity, cultural awareness, humanitarian initiatives, healthcare, education, environment and sustainability, crime and legal awareness, social awareness, farmers’ emotions, old age, women’s empowerment, the evolutionary impact of social media, and pivotal moments in Indian history.

A recent standout in his repertoire is the groundbreaking Hindi feature film ‘Rabb Di Awaaz,’ recognized as the world’s first multi-inclusive film. Also Released with a Hindi Audio description and Indian Sign Language on the same day, the film addresses critical themes such as mental health, disability, and inclusivity. It serves as a poignant reflection on the challenges faced by individuals in society, leveraging the power of social media to disseminate meaningful information and advocate for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.

Ojaswwee’s directorial prowess extends to the National Award-winning ‘Admitted,’ a feature documentary unraveling the landscape of transgender education and human rights in India. The film, based on the true story of the first transgender student of Panjab University, received the Special Jury award at the 68th National Film Awards in 2020 and the Silver Conch for Best Documentary at MIFF 2022, both accolades bestowed by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.

His extensive body of work also includes award-winning short films and documentaries such as ‘Zubaan,’ ‘The Last Date,’ ‘Rooh,’ and ‘Badalti Soch.’ As a prolific producer, he has helmed projects like ‘Chaurassi,’ ‘Scars – That Remain After 100 Years of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre,’ ‘Silver Lining,’ ‘One Beat,’ ‘Art Finds Its Way,’ and ‘Sarbat Da Bhala.’ Ojaswwee has contributed to over 20 films and hundreds of programs, encompassing films, ad campaigns, television and talk shows, digital features, short films, and documentaries, amassing a total of more than 600 videos.

Recognized for his significant impact in the realm of films for change, Ojaswwee has received acclaim from prestigious organizations including the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting of the Government of India, Sikhlens, Public Relations Council of India, IRPRA – Indian regional PR Awards, Rotary, Media Federation of India, Punjab Angels Network, TiE, and Rotary Chandigarh Midtown.

As a partner of Pinaka Mediaworks LLP, a leading film production house in India, Ojaswwee spearheads RFE Rolling Frames Entertainment, Rolling Frames Motion Pictures, and MasterShot Pictures. He also represents Sikhlens in India and assumes the pivotal role of Festival Director for Sikhlens: Sikh Arts & Film Festival India Chapter, a platform showcasing world-class cinema, emphasizing the Sikh diaspora, achievements, and unity within India.

Since 2020, Ojaswwee has been hosting the Sikhlens Film Festival in India annually each February. The upcoming 5th Edition is slated for February 24, 2024, in Chandigarh, marking another chapter in his commitment to celebrating and elevating the cinematic arts.
